Interested in becoming an Auto Mechanic? Want to get a head start on Gateway Community College’s Automotive Certificate Program? Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors who qualify for the Pell Grant and have an over all C average are eligible to apply. There will be an Informational Session on Thursday, April 6th, from 5:30-6:30 PM, at the North Haven campus. You must complete the FAFSA by April 28th, so don’t delay! See Julie in Student Services on Tuesdays or email her to get more information and/or sign up for the Info Session.

 

 

 

 

Waterfront T-shirt Design Contest:  Every year we ask students to submit their art work to be featured on the official Waterfront Festival T-shirt.  Any student interested must submit their artwork to PAC by Friday, April 7th.  All submissions can be emailed or dropped off at the PAC mailbox in McNeil.  Submission will be reviewed at the April PAC meeting and a winner will be picked.  Winner can choose one color for t-shirt and one color for design.

 

PAC Clothing Drive – Start cleaning your closets and do some Spring cleaning!  Collect from family and friends.  Final drop off should be WEDNESDAY, March 29th.  Pick up will be Friday, March 31th. Please make sure your donations are gently used clothing and bagged appropriately.

 

 

On Thursday, April 13th we will be having our second annual Shake it Up! Day where students and teachers are able to participate in new enrichment activities that fall outside of our regular classes.  If you have a skill you’d like to teach your peers, would like to share an aspect of your culture, or have a hobby you’d like to display, you can submit a proposal to run a Shake it Up! Day workshop.   Workshops should have an enrichment focus area such as art, culture, or volunteer work.  The proposal should outline what the workshop would entail and must be submitted in writing to Megan in Thomas 416 by Friday, March 24th.  If you have any questions, stop by Megan’s room during a G or H period for further details.

 

 

 

Any student looking to participate in the Youth@Work program this summer for 5 weeks please go to City Hall 165 Church Street to pick up an application. All App’s are due prior to March 31st, 2017.

Reminders:

 

Students are not authorized to be in any building other than McNeil and the second floor of Thomas before first bell at 7:55. Teachers please DO NOT let students into buildings in the morning unless you intend to personally supervise them, in which case you should let the administrative team know.

If you are locked out of a building for any reason, please report to the main office so we can call ahead and facilitate your reentry. The McNeil building remains open at all times during school hours. Please do NOT knock on entry doors during class time. This is disruptive to everyone in the building. Also do not rely on calls or texts to fellow students. Your entry must be facilitated by an adult. Again…go to McNeil and get called in. Teachers, please do not send students on errands during class time. On that rare occurrence when you simply MUST do so, you MUST phone ahead to their destination to facilitate their entry.
