FRIDAY, MAY 26, 2017: C DAY

 

Today is Gateway Acceptance Day.  Any senior who plans to attend Gateway Community College in the fall must report to Ned Flanagan’s room at 11:15am to meet with Ms. Matos and an admissions counselor from Gateway.  During this time you will be able to complete your FAFSA, schedule your placement test, and submit an application if you have not done so already.

 

Today is the final day to register for the Student Council election.  Get your registration forms and personal statement in by 2:30 PM today to receive petition forms from Ms. Nuzzo or John Buell. 

 

 

 

 

Reminder for FFA Advisory Meeting next week. Please have ALL your paperwork, certificates, , and other work examples ready to be checked and discussed with your FFA Advisor regarding your SAE,   Outstanding dues must dues must be paid. The schedule is  B FFA  advisory for Tuesday, E for Wednesday, and C for Friday.

 

On June 3 the Canal Boat Dock will be holding their annual Dragon Boat Regatta. They are looking for any Sound School student to join and to create a team. We need 20 rowers and a drummer. Admission onto your boat is FREE. The race will be held on June 3 from 3:30 to 7:30 pm in conjunction with the Food Truck Festival. Please contact Catherine Hall or Angel Aviles if you are interested in participating.

Reminders:

 

Note from the security department: Students: District policy prohibits students bringing glass containers to school. Please do not bring them or they may be confiscated.

 

 

No student should be in any other building than McNeil during lunch waves. Also, exterior doors to buildings must remain closed at all times…Do Not Prop Doors Open. Security is everyone’s business, so please, adults and students alike, help out by making sure those doors remain closed!

 

 

The odd side of South Water Street is now designated a residential parking area, now designated by “Zone 17” signs. Non-residents who park there risk being tagged and towed. Please do not park there. And while we’re at it, please do not park anywhere in the bus loading area designated by brick patio in the curb strip between Thomas and Foote.

 

 

Students are not authorized to be in any building other than McNeil and the second floor of Thomas before first bell at 7:55. Teachers please DO NOT let students into buildings in the morning unless you intend to personally supervise them, in which case you should let the administrative team know.

If you are locked out of a building for any reason, please report to the main office so we can call ahead and facilitate your reentry. The McNeil building remains open at all times during school hours. Please do NOT knock on entry doors during class time. This is disruptive to everyone in the building. Also do not rely on calls or texts to fellow students. Your entry must be facilitated by an adult. Again…go to McNeil and get called in. Teachers, please do not send students on errands during class time. On that rare occurrence when you simply MUST do so, you MUST phone ahead to their destination to facilitate their entry.
