All Juniors are to report to the library classroom during G period for the Nature Conservancy Leaders in Environmental Action for the Future (LEAF) Program presentation. The LEAF program provides paid internships for high school juniors interested in conservation.

 

U.G.L.Y. This Thursday is Ugly Sweater Day!  To get involved, just wear your ugliest sweater and participate in our ugly sweater contest during G period in the McNeil building.  Remember, DIY sweaters are encouraged.  We will award three winners:  Most Creative, Most Festive, and Most Likely to Belong to Your Grandma.  Winners will receive a $10 Dunkin Donut Gift Card.  We look forward to seeing your spirit!!  See a Student Council member or Mrs. Nuzzo if you have any questions.

Attention: Faculty and Sound School students…. The rowing program has put together a beautiful holiday baking basket that will be coming to your building during the lunch waves. Tickets for a chance to win are 3 tickets for $2 or single tickets are $1 each. It would make a great holiday gift for someone you know that likes to bake.

 

The Beekeeping Club will be meeting after school TOMORROW in Kevin Daley’s room. This week we will be making beeswax balm!

 

Attention FFA Leadership Group!

Our December meeting and winter party is tomorrow in the library classroom from 2:30 to 4:30. clean up crew can plan to be there till 5. Don’t forget to bring a small gift for the gift exchange!

Also what are you bringing for the potluck? Sign up on the bulletin board outside 307. Any questions ask an officer or see Kristi. 

 

 

Any student or teacher interested in making holiday cards for Yale Children’s please meet in the cafe during G period TOMORROW.

 

 

College Before College students who submitted applications for the Gateway program please note the following

 

  1.  *New Students–Will receive a packet in the mail with Banner ID. They will need to call and take the Accuplacer if necessary.  Then they will need to attend registration.

 

  1.  * Returning Students—Will need to attend Registration

 

  1.  All students should complete a ranked list of classes they are interested in taking and make sure they have the name, times, and CRNs as well for the courses as this will help with registration.

 

  1.  **Course availability is subject to change based on  GWCC (paying) student enrollment.

 

  1.  **If students have questions about individual classes, transfer of credits, etc. please tell them to hold questions until January.

 

Registration is January 1/11 at Gateway—Room S 211 2:00-4:00.

 

Please stop in to see Caroline in Thomas 507 during G/H period or after school if you have any questions.

 

 

If you are interested in learning about Aquariums and Fish, there will be a general information meeting TODAY, after school in Room 718 Foote. The Aquarium Maintenance Winter  Directed Lab is for beginners and advanced beginners to learn and do more with Fish Aquariums. While learning skills, groups will set up and maintain Teacher and Community Aquariums and visit pet stores for presentations, The meeting will last from 2:45 to 4:15 pm. You must be in good FFA and Academic standing. If you are interested or need more information see Jack Walsh, Room 718 Foote.

 

 

The “Growing Entrepreneurs” program is a program for high school students (freshmen through juniors) run by the New Haven Land Trust.  The New Haven Land Trust is an environmental nonprofit in New Haven that manages community gardens and natural preserves. New Haven Land Trust is excited to offer five New Haven high school students the opportunity to join the program in January, 2018.  Applications are due FRIDAY.  Please see Ms. Matos if you would like to apply.
