Tuesday, October 9, 2018, E-Day

 

All students in grades 9 through 11 will take the PSAT tomorrow Wednesday, October 10th. The PSAT room assignment list  has been posted in each building.  Students, please refer to this list to find out what room you are to report to tomorrow morning. 

 

Seniors, 

While the 9th, 10th, and 11th graders are taking the PSAT, you will participate in Sound’s 3rd Annual College Application Campaign which will take place in the Foote building.  Some of the things you will have time to work on include: the common application, New Haven Promise Scholarship application, senior profile, and learn about financial aid.  Please bring your own electronic device if you have one.    

 

 

There will be NO after school activities today due to department meetings. All students are expected to leave campus on their regular transportation at dismissal.

 

Attention Dive Club Members! Any diver who would like to attend the trip to Dutch Springs must see Pete to pick up a permission slip and waiver. Don’t forget to check the Google Classroom for more club announcements and updates. 

 

Namaste Staff and Students, This week’s group meditation session will be on Friday, Period G in room 403. Please contact Saras for sign up. Remember to bring a pass, doors close at 10:30am. Come join us for some peaceful time!

Next Tuesday, October 16,  is the first meeting of the SAE program Vet Tech in Kim’s room, at the Foote building. This program will teach you about different animals, how to care for them, and future jobs involved with animals. There will also be multiple encounters with real animals and guest speakers. Only freshman and sophomores can join Vet Tech. If you have any further questions speak to Brianna Lane or Katelynn Hanson, who are running this program. 

 

 

Does art interest you? Do you like watching films and TV shows? Have you ever wanted to make short films? If so, you should consider joining The Film Club for its first meeting TOMORROW, from 2:30 to 4 in Dave Lowe’s room! In this new program, you’ll learn how your favorite Movies and TV shows are crafted, each of the key processes of filmmaking and more importantly, make short films yourself!

 

Students needing community service hours can volunteer at the Downtown evening Soup Kitchen. Our first volunteer opportunity TOMORROW from 2:45 – 5:00 PM please see Paul or Pebbles to sign up

 

 

The homecoming dance is on Friday, October 26th at Amarante’s. The price for the event is $40.00 per person. Please see Melissa in Emerson 107 to purchase tickets.

 

 

National FFA’s 2018 SAE Grant application is NOW available. If you are interested in applying for a $1000 grant to support your SAE plan or program please see Pebbles. Applications are due by November 15, 2018
