The Sound School SAGA will be having their first meeting of the year TODAY during g period in the library classroom. Our mission is to provide a safe, secure and welcoming environment for everyone and to strengthen our community through education and student advocacy. All are welcome and remember I belong. This is a very important announcement for those students participating in the after school Sharpie program: Sharpie sailing is suspended indefinitely due to a lack staff. There is a chance it may be restarted before the end of the sailing season so keep your ears open for announcements. If you have any questions, feel free to stop by John’s room.
Squash Haven will be on campus TODAY during period G recruiting students from New Haven to learn Squash and participate in mentorship activities, college planning and academic support. Squash Haven students have fun, get in shape, and frequently improve their academic performance. Interested students should report to the cafeteria during period G.
The lost and found from the freshman camping trip is upstairs in student services. If you lost something last week please stop by to see if it is there.
If anyone is interested in volunteering for a Congressional Candidate in the Shelton area, or a State senate candidate in Guilford, or a Connecticut Governor Candidate, contact Roman Khondker.

Next Tuesday, October 16, is the first meeting of the SAE program Vet Tech in Kim’s room, at the Foote building. This program will teach you about different animals, how to care for them, and future jobs involved with animals. There will also be multiple encounters with real animals and guest speakers. Only freshman and sophomores can join Vet Tech. If you have any further questions speak to Brianna Lane or Katelynn Hanson, who are running this program.
Congratulations to team ‘S.S. Finna Sink‘ for winning 1st Place in the annual cardboard boat race that was held this year at Deer Lake. Second place went to team ‘NOS,’ and 3rd place went to the ‘Sand Sharks.’ Congratulations to all participants, the event was a real splash!!!
Announcing last week’s Sound School Citizen of the Week. Congratulations to Kinaicha Sepulveda. The nomination reads "Kinaicha is a role model for all of an exemplary Sound School student. Her transformation from freshman year to senior year is impressive! She has become a leader in support of admissions, helping to volunteer for upcoming Open House and other clerical support in the Foote Building. She is always willing to help teachers and students with any task or assignment while having an optimistic and positive attitude."

The homecoming dance is on Friday, October 26th at Amarante’s. The price for the event is $40.00 per person. Please see Melissa in Emerson 107 to purchase tickets.
National FFA’s 2018 SAE Grant application is NOW available. If you are interested in applying for a $1000 grant to support your SAE plan or program please see Pebbles. Applications are due by November 15, 2018
