ANNOUNCEMENTS

Tuesday, October 16, 2018, F-Day

This week’s coastal cleanup will be postponed. We will reconvene on November 2nd.

Attention all who care about student government – and that should be all of you.  Although most members of the Student Council were elected last spring, we need to have one more election to choose the Freshman representatives and to break the tie that resulted in last year’s election for Student Council President.  Therefore, Libby Fontana and Ashley Perez will be running again.  Any member of the Freshman class who would like to run for Student Council must pick up a registration form from Justyne Nuzzo, John Buell or Kevin Daley.  You will need to have your completed petition in by Monday Oct. 22.  The voting will take place during Advisement on Tuesday October 30 which should give plenty of time for all candidates to campaign.  If you have any questions see John or Kevin.

Juniors and Seniors, It’s time to order your class ring! Orders will be taken TOMORROW, during the lunches in the cafeteria. A $75 deposit is required when placing your order. Design your custom ring or other customized class jewelry on-line at Jostens.com or pick up a jewelry packet in the main office.

Take a leap of faith and wonder! Come see the 2017 movie "Leap!", a beautiful story of an orphan girl who travels to Paris to fulfill her dream of becoming a ballerina, starring Elle Fanning, Nat Wolff, Maddie Ziegler, and Carly Rae Jepsen, on Wednesday the 24th after-school! For those who are interested, the movie screening will be at the Foote library classroom from 2:45 to 4:30. Don’t miss an opportunity to discover your greatest passion.

Attention to all those who want to be heard, who love to argue, who want to win that argument: The Sound School Debate Team is looking for new members.  Participation on the team may be used for SAE credit and is guaranteed to help you to think critically and speak effectively.  Next practice will not be this week as announced yesterday but next week on Thursday Oct. 25.  Listen for reminders next week.

TODAY is the first meeting of the SAE program Vet Tech in Kim’s room, at the Foote building. This program will teach you about different animals, how to care for them, and future jobs involved with animals. There will also be multiple encounters with real animals and guest speakers. Only freshman and sophomores can join Vet Tech. If you have any further questions speak to Brianna Lane or Katelynn Hanson, who are running this program.

The homecoming dance is on Friday, October 26th at Amarante’s. The price for the event is $40.00 per person. Please see Melissa in Emerson 107 to purchase tickets.

National FFA’s 2018 SAE Grant application is NOW available. If you are interested in applying for a $1000 grant to support your SAE plan or program please see Pebbles. Applications are due by November 15, 2018
