The elections for the last three members of the Student Council are now concluded and here are the results:  In a close vote, the winning candidates for Freshman class representative are Andrew Macchio and Jalina Secchiaroli.  The winning candidate for Student Council President is Ashley Perez.  Congratulations to all the candidates for their efforts to support student government.  The first meeting of the council will take place next week.  All members should listen for announcements.

 

 

If you were a candidate for the student council election, now is the time to demonstrate your sense of responsibility by removing all campaign posters from walls around campus. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.

 

A representative from  the Nature Conservancy’s Leaders in Environmental Action for the Future (LEAF) Program, will be here on Friday, November 2nd to meet with all juniors. Every year, LEAF looks to hire student leaders ages 16 and up who have a strong interest in science, the environment, and who work well with others.  On Friday, all juniors should report to the library classroom during G period. 

 

The sound school’s school store has a very limited supply of ffa merchandise available for sale. Examples can be found on the sound school Instagram modeled by The Plant Tech department. Store will be open Wednesday October 31 from 230-330

 

 

Seniors, The college trip to visit Eastern CT State University is TOMORROW.  Permission slips must be returned to Nilsa TODAY. 

 

Calling all scientists! Are you interested in running an experiment of your own design? or maybe you want extra time to gather more data from an experiment that you are already doing in a science class right now. Kim and Paula are ready to work with next years FFA Nationals competitors!  Come on down to room 765 in Foote TODAY after school to get details and check it out!

Climate Change Presentation for Environmental Science and Natural Resources 1 During G Period tomorrow. You should come to learn more about Climate change and how it is affecting our lives right now and later in life

 

 

Attention all current members of the dive club. TODAY, we will hold a meeting after school for all current members of the dive club. Both fall and spring classes should attend. We will go over the fall classes paperwork, and more information for the spring class. If you have any questions, or cannot attend the meeting, feel free to ask Pete or David Walstedter.

 

Any student interested in volunteering at the Soup Kitchen on Wednesday November 7, 2018 from 2:30 – 5:00 or Tuesday November 27, 2018 from 4:30 – 8 should see Pebbles or Paul to sign up

 

 

National FFA’s 2018 SAE Grant application is NOW available. If you are interested in applying for a $1000 grant to support your SAE plan or program please see Pebbles. Applications are due by November 15, 2018

 

Our Semi-Annual Lock-In has returned, this time coming with strength greater than any other year! Stop by on Friday, November 16th in the Thomas building from 6 PM – 9:30 PM for numerous activities such as Arts & Crafts, Board and Video Games, Magic The Gathering, Jackbox, and more. Food and drinks will be provided, as well as music. But that’s not all: There will be a draft for Magic The Gathering, as well as a Super Smash Bros 4 and Just Dance Tournament! Winners will receive prizes. Tickets will cost $7.00 beforehand and $10.00 at the door, and will be sold during lunch waves starting Wednesday. The Smash and Just Dance tournaments will be free entry, but the Magic Draft will cost an additional $10. See you there!
