Looking for an after school snack? The Sound School dive club snack shack will be selling grilled cheeses and tomato soup along with drinks and chips after school in the Foote foyer starting this Thursday after school. 

 

Any diver who would like to attend the dive at Lighthouse Park this Wednesday must sign up with Pete or on the Google Classroom page by Tuesday evening.

 

 

 

Attention all members of the Student Council: Our first meeting will take place during G period TODAY in John Buell’s room – Room 604 in the Anderson Building.  All members should be present.

 

 

 

STEM mentors @ Yale is presenting a College Essay Workshop in regards to writing a personal statement. After a short introductory presentation students and mentors will break into small group discussions about sample essays. Submit your essay during the registration process or bring hard copies to the workshop. This event is Saturday from 10-3pm in the Sterling Chem Lab Room 110 on 225 prospect street

 

 

Winter is approaching. Let’s think about how we can help others as the weather gets colder and colder. Donate warm winter coats for children or adults to Melissa in Emerson 107 between now and January 6th. Jordan’s Furniture will have the coats dry cleaned and distributed in New Haven.

 

 

Any student interested in volunteering at the Soup Kitchen on Wednesday from 2:30 – 5:00 or Tuesday November 27, 2018 from 4:30 – 8 should see Pebbles or Paul to sign up

 

 

National FFA’s 2018 SAE Grant application is NOW available. If you are interested in applying for a $1000 grant to support your SAE plan or program please see Pebbles. Applications are due by November 15, 2018

 

Our Semi-Annual Lock-In has returned, this time coming with strength greater than any other year! Stop by on Friday, November 16th in the Thomas building from 6 PM – 9:30 PM for numerous activities such as Arts & Crafts, Board and Video Games, Magic The Gathering, Jackbox, and more. Food and drinks will be provided, as well as music. But that’s not all: There will be a draft for Magic The Gathering, as well as a Super Smash Bros 4 and Just Dance Tournament! Winners will receive prizes. Tickets will cost $7.00 beforehand and $10.00 at the door, and will be sold during lunch waves starting Wednesday. The Smash and Just Dance tournaments will be free entry, but the Magic Draft will cost an additional $10. See you there!

 

Announcing this week’s Sound School Citizen of the Week. Pam Ertelt nominated Quivaon "DJ" Johnson and she writes, "DJ serves as a mentor to his fellow students in class, volunteering to assist and explain work to his colleagues. He is responsible and willingly accepts challenges-helping students and teachers alike. DJ is a positive role model and an exemplary Sound School student."
