ANNOUNCEMENTS

Thursday, December 20, 2018, C-Day

REMINDER: TOMORROW is a 12:15 Dismissal Day. All students must leave at 12:15 by regular transportation or other means. There will be no staff on duty after dismissal.

Listen up everybody!  Today is the day you’ve been waiting for.  During G period today the Student Council’s Half-K underachievers holiday stroll will take place.  Come out and support the teams as they do the very least they can.  A number of teams may be short a few members and extra holiday gear will be on hand for last minute volunteers to fill the empty slots.  No training necessary.  Hot chocolate will be on sale $2 a cup down by the start/finish line near the Foote building. All proceeds will go to the food pantry. Let’s all get out there and encourage the non-competitors to take their time, slow down and enjoy their munchkins and enjoy some absurd holiday cheer.

All students attending the soup kitchen tonight from 430-730; please bring $ for pizza and be in Emerson 112 before 345

Eco Adventure will not be meeting regularly on Thursdays. Listen to the announcements for special events in the near future.

SAGA Members: There will be NO SAGA meeting this week. Have a great break and see you next year!

Take a leap into the new year! Come see the 2017 movie "Leap!", a beautiful story of two orphans’ journey to Paris to fulfill their lifelong dreams, starring Elle Fanning, Nat Wolff, Maddie Ziegler, and Carly Rae Jepsen, on Friday, January 4th after-school! For those who are interested, the movie screening will be in Room 715 at the Foote Building from 2:45 to 4:30. Don’t miss an opportunity to discover your greatest passion.

Students who like to express their passion on paper: The Sound School magazine is looking for you to submit. Please submit your artwork, writing, or whatever you want to the Sound School magazine. The artist with the winning cover names the magazine. Cover art is due by January 4th. Please share your work with melissa.dailey@nhps.net. Please name the document, “Sound Magazine + your name.”

Let’s think about how we can help others as the weather gets colder. Donate warm winter coats for children or adults to Melissa in Emerson 107 between now and January 6th. Jordan’s Furniture will have the coats dry cleaned and distributed in New Haven.

This week’s Citizen of the Week is Mara Cicarella. Steve Joseph nominated herald writes "Mara is an exceptional role model at Sound School. Always welcoming and inviting as she provides campus tours and gets involved in FFA. Thank you for all you do. It doesn’t go un-noticed!"

Mara, please come up to Student Services for your certificate when you have the chance.
