ANNOUNCEMENTS

Tuesday, January 8, 2019, F-Day

Attention Seniors: Submit your choice of senior pictures and baby pictures to Katie by Friday. If you want to use your ID picture you do not have to submit that. Be sure to check the google classroom page for yearbook updates.

All students interested in working on the yearbook should come to a meeting in Katie’s room on Thursday during G period. All students are welcome. We will be creating the lists for superlatives and working on some of the page designs. Please check in with your G period teacher BEFORE coming to Katie’s room.

There will be a Bermuda meeting for Tuesday during G-period in John Roy’s room 748. Anyone who cannot attend should see John.

Any 9th or 10th grade student interested in being a shadow mentor this spring please sign up outside of Emerson 112 on the living to serve bulletin board.

The East Haven Chili’s cordially invites you to a Sound School Basketball Family Fundraising Night! To be held TONIGHT, from 5-8PM. With each flyer presented during those hours, Chilis will donate 10% of the sales you bring in to the Sound School Basketball Team! Flyers are available in the main office.

Namaste Staff and Students, As we approach Mid Terms next week, many of us might feel anxious and a bit overwhelmed. So, we plan to support you with two Group Meditation sessions this week, on Thursday and Friday, Period G in room 403.  WALK INs are welcome. Doors close by 10:30 am. Please be there on time and with a PASS!!!

This week the After School Program will be running out of Megan’s room in the Thomas building, TODAY through Thursday.  TODAY will have Julie’s college prep workshop and an English workshop led by Katie, TOMORROW will have a math enrichment workshop with Mr. Padro, and Thursday will have an environmental education workshop with Cori from the New Haven Land Trust.  As always, homework and project help will be provided by student tutors and teachers each day as well.  All 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students are welcome!  Students who attend the program regularly will also be eligible to attend upcoming field trips such as indoor rock climbing, ziplining, trampoline parks, and more.

Sound School students have a unique opportunity to earn community service hours while working for the Connecticut Marine Trades Association at the 50th annual Hartford Boat Show. Volunteers are needed Friday January 18th, Saturday January 19th, and Sunday January 20th at The Mohegan Sun Casino Convention Center in Uncasville, CT. Any student volunteering must be up-to-date with all responsibilities related to mid-term exams. Students must be able to provide their own transportation to and from the Casino. Any interested students should come to a brief meeting after school next Wednesday January 9th at 2:35 in Thomas Room 506. If you can’t make the meeting, email Jack Cardello at patrick.cardello@nhps.net, or speak directly to Jack.
