Need a drink to keep you warm this winter? The after school ROV team is selling hot cocoa in Mc Neil from 7:00 am to 7:45 every day for a dollar. Be sure to stop by for a delicious treat.

 

This week the After School Program will be running out of Megan’s room in the Thomas building, only on Tuesday.  Tuesday we will have an environmental education workshop with Cori from the New Haven Land Trust.  As always, homework and project help will be provided by student tutors and teachers as well.  All 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students are welcome! 

 

 

Want to try scuba diving? Try it with the sound school dive club! We will teach you the basics of scuba and help you take your first breaths underwater! No dive experience necessary and all ages welcome! CT Scuba Academy and the Sound School dive club will provide all the necessary equipment, all you need is a swimsuit and towel. Anyone interested in playing for the Sound School basketball team please sign up in the main office.

 

Any 9th or 10th grade student interested in being a shadow mentor this spring please sign up outside of Emerson 112 on the living to serve bulletin board. 

 

Midterm Exam Schedule:  A light lunch will be served in the cafeteria each day during the 10:00 – 10:15 am break. Regular dismissal is at 12:15 pm on each exam day.  *If you stay for Extended Time (to finish an exam OR to study, you will need to bring a lunch and arrange for a ride home at or before 2:30 pm. No after school activities will be held.

    

WEDNESDAY         JANUARY 16 ~ A/B

A Exam: 8 – 10 AM

B Exam: 10:15 AM – 12:15 PM

Dismissal at 12:15 PM

Extended Time 12:15 – 2:30 PM* (must stay for extended time on the day of the exam)

 

THURSDAY            JANUARY 17 ~ C/D

C Exam: 8 – 10 AM

D Exam: 10:15 AM – 12:15 PM

Dismissal at 12:15 PM

Extended Time 12:15 – 2:30 PM* (must stay for extended time on the day of the exam)

    

FRIDAY                  JANUARY 18 ~ E/F

E Exam: 8 – 10 AM

F Exam: 10:15 AM – 12:15 PM

Dismissal at 12:15 PM

Extended Time 12:15-2:30 PM* (must stay for extended time on the day of the exam)

    

*The homework center will be open from dismissal UNTIL 2:30 pm each day to accommodate those students who may have arrangements for extended time, alternate exam schedule, or need to stay to study or make up owed work.

 

A few tips to remember…

     *   Make sure to organize all study materials well in advance

     *   Make sure to study for your exams e few days prior to exam date

     *   Make sure to get lots of rest the night before exams

     *   Eat a good breakfast that morning

     *   Bring all tools you need for your exam e.g. pencil, paper, notes (just in case you have study time or are allowed to use them)

     *   Bring back text books to turn in to your teacher and library books back to the library

     *   REMEMBER THAT IF YOU NEED EXTENDED TIME YOU MUST STAY THE AFTERNOON OF THE EXAM!  Please do not schedule work, doctors’ appointments, etc. prior to 2:30 pm each of these exam days

     *   If you miss an exam day you MUST make arrangements with your teacher
