Wednesday, February 6, 2019, F-Day
Any diver who signed up for TODAY’S training dive at the Hillhouse Pool should meet in the library right after school to help load equipment. See Pete to sign up if you haven’t already.
There will be a meeting of all students participating in this Sunday’s ski trip to Mohawk Mountain. The meeting will be held in room 307 immediately after school TOMORROW. The meeting will be brief but attendance is mandatory.
If you do not yet have a gift for your loved one this Valentine’s day, the hunt stops here: Plant tech is selling roses and candy mugs during all lunch waves through February 12th. Payment is due when orders are placed.
There will be an informative presentation about the Sea Scouts program during period G TODAY in Pete’s room. The Sea Scouts are run by BSA and we teach and learn seamanship and other maritime skills
This week the After School Program will be running out of Megan’s room in the Thomas building, TODAY & TOMORROW. We will have math enrichment workshops with Mr. Padro. As always, homework and project help will be provided by student tutors and teachers each day as well. Students who attend the program regularly will also be eligible to attend upcoming field trips to an indoor rock climbing gym and a laser tag arena.
The Community Health Educators from Yale will be on campus providing health education workshops for students over the next two months. Since the workshops are led by undergraduate college students, the workshops provide a unique opportunity for peer-to-peer discussion. Workshops will be held in Thomas 415 every two weeks after school. See the blue flyers posted around campus for upcoming topics and dates. The first session will be held next Wednesday 2/13 at 2:45pm.
Our fourth annual Shake it Up! Day where students and teachers are able to participate in fun enrichment activities that fall outside of our regular classes will be coming in April. If you have a skill you’d like to teach your peers, if you would like to share an aspect of your culture, or if you have a hobby you’d like to display, you can submit a proposal to run a Shake it Up! Day workshop. Workshops should have an enrichment focus area such as art, history, culture, or volunteer work. See the orange information sheets posted around campus for how to submit your Shake it Up! Day workshop proposal. See Megan in Thomas 416 if you have any questions.
