Our fourth annual Shake it Up! Day where students and teachers are able to participate in fun enrichment activities that fall outside of our regular classes will be coming in April.  If you have a skill you’d like to teach your peers, if you would like to share an aspect of your culture, or if you have a hobby you’d like to display, you can submit a proposal to run a Shake it Up! Day workshop.   Workshops should have an enrichment focus area such as art, history, culture, or volunteer work.  See the orange information sheets posted around campus for how to submit your Shake it Up! Day workshop proposal.  See Megan in Thomas 416 if you have any questions.

Mrs. Improta and the Language Department are planning a trip to Italy and Greece for spring 2020.  The trip is open to all Sound School students.  If you would like to know more and have the information, please stop by her classroom in Emerson or by Lori’s classroom in Anderson.  Don’t miss this great opportunity!

Anyone who wants to be a district or state FFA officer please apply by April 1st. Please go to ctffa.org and scroll down to applicants and select state officer or district president application.

Prom is coming! Dresses are in demand! Consider donating or even taking a dress from Melissa’s room, Emerson 107. We will collect, swap, distribute, and finally donate dresses on March 31st. Jordan’s Furniture will have the dresses dry cleaned and distributed by Project Hope CT, a New-Haven based organization.

The Senior Ocean Engineering class is hosting a MONTH. LONG. RAFFLE!! For the month of April, they are giving away one prize for each day of the month. Some prizes include Amazon gift cards, movie passes, and even tickets to a Yankees VS Red Sox game! They will be selling tickets during all three lunch waves! But get your tickets soon, they cut off ticket sales the last day of March so they can start announcing winners April 1st. Support the Ocean Engineering class while getting a chance to win over $900 in prizes!!

The After School Program will be running out of Megan’s room in the Thomas building TOMORROW and Thursday only.  TOMORROW will have Julie’s college prep workshop and an environmental education workshop with Cori from the New Haven Land Trust, and Thursday will have a math enrichment workshop with Mr. Padro.  As always, homework and project help will be provided by student tutors and teachers each day.  Students who attend the program regularly will also be eligible to attend upcoming field trips to an indoor rock-climbing gym and a laser tag arena.
