ANNOUNCEMENTS

Thursday, April 11, 2019: ADV-E-F-H-A-B

Students interested in participating in the trip aboard the Schooner Brilliant in September 2019 should see Phil Brencher in McNeil 307.  Preference will be given to students who will be juniors in the 2019/2020 school year.

Student schedules for Shake it Up! Day will be emailed to students and posted in Thomas & Foote by the end of the day today.  You are not able to switch your schedules.  Tomorrow morning you will go to advisement for the first 10 minutes of the day and then be dismissed to your Shake it Up! Day workshops.

Prom tickets are now on sale in Melissa’s room, Emerson 107. Prom is at Birchwoods on May 17th  from 7 to 11pm. The cost is $65 per person. All are welcome. Please pay for your tickets during middle lunch or G period by April 30th.

Attention all sophomores:  If you are interested in applying to be in AP English for your junior year English course, your application essays are due the Friday after we return from break.  Email Megan Koonze if you have any questions.

Enjoy some short stacks for a tall cause at the Sound School’s Pancake Breakfast Saturday, April 27th from 7:30-11:00. Hosted by the Senior Ocean Engineering Class, you will be served an “all you can eat” breakfast in the Thomas Building for just $7 per person! This is also the same day as the placement test, so if you’re bringing a sibling or volunteering, come on down and enjoy a well rounded meal! You can find more information on the Sound School Website, or from flyers posted in all five buildings!

Join us TODAY from 430-730 at Jordan’s furniture to go climbing, eat pizza and have ice cream all while supporting The Sound Schools trip to The National FFA convention!  Please pre-register for climbing by signing up in the main office and bringing your $25 fee! See you there!

9th grade students, this is a special message for you!  The State of Connecticut requires that we have a current physical and immunization history for each of you.  A physical done in 2018 or 2019 will fulfill this requirement.    Information about free clinic services is included in the letter that was mailed home last week.  Deadline for handing in the physical is the first day of 10th grade but we want your physicals handed in before the end of this school year if possible.  Please bring them to nurse Rosellen in Emerson.

This week we have three Citizen of the Week winners.

The first comes from an anonymous source and is for John Bassett. Anonymous writes, "John is extremely kind and often helps his peers to solve their issues. He is very knowledgable especially in Tech II. He is a goof ball sometimes, but always knows when it’s time to get to work."

The second comes from Steve Joseph and is for Erik Ojeda. Steve writes, "Eric is deserving of Citizen of the Week because of his ‘can do’ attitude in Tech I’s waterfront maintenance unit. His polite disposition and willingness to be a team player are also positive attributes."

The third nomination comes from the two Sound School bunnies, Peanut and Honey. Peanut and Honey nominated Jordan Williams and they write, "Jordan is a loving, caring person who always has our back. She is there every morning offering us support and comfort to get us through our day. We love you, Jordan!"

Congratulations to John, Erik, and Jordan! Please see Randy for your certificate.
