Friday, April 12, 2019: ADV-Shake it Up Day Workshops 1, 2 & 3

LUNCH WAVES TODAY run from 10:45 to 12:15 (dismissal time.) You eat during the wave that the building you are in for Workshop 3 would normally eat.

If you have free time during the break, Community Service is a great way to occupy your days.  Habitat for Humanity, Schooner, and the Town of Hamden are in need of volunteers.  If you are looking for part-time work,  Take The Cake in Guilford is hiring for a dishwasher. Visit the Main Office in McNeil and Foote Building to pick up informational flyers for volunteer and job opportunities.

Students interested in participating in the trip aboard the Schooner Brilliant in September 2019 should see Phil Brencher in McNeil 307.  Preference will be given to students who will be juniors in the 2019/2020 school year.

Prom tickets are now on sale in Melissa’s room, Emerson 107. Prom is at Birchwoods on May 17th  from 7 to 11pm. The cost is $65 per person. All are welcome. Please pay for your tickets during middle lunch or G period by April 30th.

Attention all sophomores:  If you are interested in applying to be in AP English for your junior year English course, your application essays are due the Friday after we return from break.  Email Megan Koonze if you have any questions.

Enjoy some short stacks for a tall cause at the Sound School’s Pancake Breakfast Saturday, April 27th from 7:30-11:00. Hosted by the Senior Ocean Engineering Class, you will be served an “all you can eat” breakfast in the Thomas Building for just $7 per person! This is also the same day as the placement test, so if you’re bringing a sibling or volunteering, come on down and enjoy a well rounded meal! You can find more information on the Sound School Website, or from flyers posted in all five buildings!

9th grade students, this is a special message for you!  The State of Connecticut requires that we have a current physical and immunization history for each of you.  A physical done in 2018 or 2019 will fulfill this requirement.    Information about free clinic services is included in the letter that was mailed home last week.  Deadline for handing in the physical is the first day of 10th grade but we want your physicals handed in before the end of this school year if possible.  Please bring them to nurse Rosellen in Emerson.
