ANNOUNCEMENTS

Tuesday, May 21, 2019: B-DAY

The Sound School Flag and Etiquette Committee will meet in Mr. Pickett’s room during G period TOMORROW in Anderson 612. Topics include unserviceable flag retirement ceremonies, half-staff on Memorial Day, and Flag Day including the Army Birthday. All are welcome but get a pass from Mr. Pickett beforehand.

Like Pokemon?? The Aquarium Maintenance Directed Lab has young 2”cute Axolotls for sale at $5.00 each.. They are a relatively easy,  safe to care for fun aquatic pet. If you are interested see Jack Walsh, Room 718 Foote Building.

The After School Program, running out of Megan’s room every Tuesday through Thursday, will have many great activities next week:

  • TODAY will have an environmental education workshop with Cori.
  • TOMORROW and Thursday will have math sessions with Mr. Padro.
  • Juniors should come on Thursday to begin the college application process with Nilsa.

Those who attend over the next two weeks will be eligible to attend an all-day field trip to Quassy Amusement Parks in June.

Juniors scheduled to take the STAMP test this morning, must report to room 107 in Emerson with a chomebook.

Applications are now available for the PAC Capstone Scholarship competition from your Capstone advisor. Applications are due TOMORROW, NO EXCEPTIONS. They may be turned in electronically or to Pete Solomon or Kim Workinger. Students must be available to present their projects to the PAC Scholarship committee on Saturday, June 8.

Sophomores and Juniors interested in taking a college course next fall at Gateway, Southern or Yale MUST meet individually with Julie, our ISSP Coordinator, in person in Student Services, TODAY. Stop by ASAP to talk over your options — minimum requirements are a B average and 400’s on the PSAT or SAT. Application deadlines are fast approaching, so don’t delay!

Here at The Sound School we must be in compliance with State Health Statutes.  We need a current physical and immunization history for all 9th graders before you return to school in August.  So far only 1/3 of our ninth graders have turned them in.  We have mailed letters and posted on Facebook, so now it’s up to you.  Let’s get this done before school gets out in June.  If you have questions, talk to Nurse Rosellen in Emerson.
