ANNOUNCEMENTS

Wednesday, September 4, 2019: D DAY

There will be a meeting Period G TODAY in the cafeteria for all students who play or wish to play BASKETBALL during lunch or before school. Please check in with your G period teacher and report to the cafeteria at the beginning of G.

Earn community service hours. Volunteers are needed this Saturday at the Guilford Fairgrounds from 12 to 3 for the Alison Varian Fundraiser.  Flyers are hanging on the bulletin board in McNeil lobby and on the Foote Building Main Office door for additional information.

Once again we will be announcing a Citizen of the Week every Friday and we need YOU to submit the nominations. This year, nomination forms can be found in McNeil, right outside the Café. Just fill in completely and put in the bin before Thursday each week. Students can nominate people and so can staff. Students can be nominated and so can staff. Thanks!

In order to minimize the impact on instruction of late-arriving students, all students who arrive to school after 8am will be admitted in groups. The first will be at 8:15 for all who arrive between 8 – 8:15. The second group will be admitted at 8:30. The third group will be admitted at 8:45 and the last group will be admitted to their second period class.

Attention all sailors and those who want to become sailors: The first meetings for the extended day sailing programs will be TODAY & TOMORROW this week.  For those who wish to join the FJ sailing team (no experience necessary) meet in John Buell’s room Anderson 604 right after school TODAY.  If you can’t make it then, come TOMORROW.  We should be finished on both days by about 4.  For those wishing to sail Sharpies after school, meet in Mr. Fuch’s room – Thomas 425 – right after school TODAY.  Again if you can’t make it TODAY, come TOMORROW.  Any questions call John at 71604 or stop by his room during G period.

Welcome back divers and surface lovers! The Dive Club will have its first meeting TODAY after school in room 761. All returning divers should bring any certification cards and their dive log book. Anyone interested in becoming a scuba diver or swimming and snorkeling training should also attend. Important information on signing up for classes and dive trips will be reviewed.

10th Graders! Bring your physicals to Nurse Rosellen. Remember: You’re not supposed to be here without a physical form.

BIG THANK YOU to all students who spend time outside during your lunch waves. We are definitely pleased with your demonstrated responsibility in keeping the outside areas free of trash. We are quick to speak up when things look messy out there. Which means we need to SHOUT OUT when things look good! Well done and Keep it Up!
