WELCOME BACK TEACHERS!
THERE IS NO PARKING ON THE SCHOOL SIDE OF SOUTH WATER STREET TODAY
Hello Sound School learning community, this is your Principal Marc Potocsky. I hope this message finds you well. I have a few very important announcements regarding our Hybrid Model at the Sound School. First, I would like to let everyone know that I will be holding two Parent Information sessions to answer any question you may have regarding our Hybrid plan for The Sound School. They will be Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 6:00 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 29th at 6:00 p.m. The link to the meetings will be posted on our website at Sound.school. sound.school/…/sound-school-parent-information…/ Due to our small classroom sizes and the mandatory guidance of maintaining 6 feet social distancing at all times, the districts A/B cohort model will not work at the Sound School. To be able to accommodate the 80% of students who plan to return on Nov. 9th, we had to split the school into THREE cohorts ABC. This will result in a rotating schedule where students will attend 2 out of every 6 school days. Students will not come to school on the same days every week. This schedule will be posted on our website as well as distributed to all students through Advisory. We are putting the final adjustments to splitting up our students into the 3 cohorts. By Monday, Nov. 2nd your student will be notified of what Cohort they are in as well as what days they will attend in person. This information will be given to them by their Advisory teacher. Please note: students can only come to school when their Cohort is present. Teachers will be streaming through google classroom to remote students while teaching those that are in person at the same time. Your student will not miss any instruction with this model. If you have any questions please attend one of the Parent Information Sessions this week. Again, the link will be posted on our school website at Sound. School. sound.school/…/sound-scol-parent-information…/ Thank you, and have a great day.
