Sound School Students: Are you drawn to the ocean?  Do you like to sail or row?  Are you down for an adventure or two?  Well Sea Scouts might be the thing for you!  Join Sea Scout Ship 1 for an informational Zoom meeting with Sound School recent graduate Marchella Corolla on Wednesday February 3rd at 1PM!  We hope to see you there, and fair winds to you all!  We are also looking for a couple of adults who might want to be involved in Sea Scout Ship 1 as well.  YES it can be staff or faculty as well as parents! Come join us for the next Fun Fridays (during office hours): TODAY  • 10:20-11:05am • Google Meet and Greet – come find a Google Meet where people of shared interests are hanging out and stay and chat for awhile.

 

February 5th’s Fun Friday will be a Poetry Party hosted by Melissa. As Amanda Gordon said, “…quiet isn’t always peace.” Come ready to make noise with poetry you have written or poetry you just love.  You may read a poem from another author, share your own poetry, or absorb the energy. See you Friday the 5th.

As always, look for details in your Grade Level Google Classrooms. Current Sound School students only. The link to the event will be in Google Classroom grade level classrooms at 10:15am Friday morning.

 

The applications for the New Haven Scholarship Fund and criteria for applying will be online at: www.newhavenscholarshipfund.org website by February 1. The deadline for the return of the applications will be March 16, 2021.

Every eligible student, who is a resident of New Haven and a graduate of New Haven Public School System, will be interviewed by a member of the awards committee.

Interviews will be by phone or zoom, if the student has the zoom app, and will begin April 19th, 2021 which will be the week following the public school spring break.

Students will be notified by the guidance personnel at their respective high schools if they are to be interviewed.

Students who will receive an award from the New Haven Scholarship Fund will be notified by their guidance counselor no later than the last week of May.

 

 

As we continue to see high COVID-19 case activity in the community, the New Haven Health Department continues to plan for testing in the community.
