ATTENTION 8th GRADERS!

We actively recruit at the middle schools in all of our sending towns* through months of September and October. Ask your school counselors about when we’re coming to your School!  Click HERE to learn more about the application process.

*If you live in New Haven, Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Bethany, Branford, Cheshire, Clinton, Derby, Durham, East Haven, East Lyme, Guilford, Hamden, Killingworth, Madison, Middlebury, North Branford, North Haven, Old Saybrook, Orange, Oxford, Prospect, Seymour, Southbury, West Haven, Westbrook, Westport, and Woodbridge, you are eligible to attend The Sound School! We’re coming to visit schools in September and October and want to meet you! Tuition and transportation costs to attend the Aquaculture/Agricultural Educations program are paid by the sending town.  We are a comprehensive public high school and a Connecticut State Agriculture/Aquaculture Science & Technology Education (ASTE) Center.

Interest in a career in aquaculture, agriculture, marine sciences, and/or marine trades and technology is the most important reason to attend Sound School. Our ASTE programs incorporate a hands-on, active curriculum that integrates subject area skills and knowledge, applied skills in the core subjects of mathematics, science and English/Language Arts while incorporating leadership skills and work-based learning experiences through the National FFA Organization and supervised agriculture experiences.

The priority application date was January 6, 2024 and we received a record amount of applicants! Unfortunately, any applications received after the priority deadline will be kept on file on our waiting list in case a spot becomes available. Thank you.
