2025 SOUND SIMPLIFIED SUMMER READING GUIDE

Step 1 – Research: Over the summer, do a little research on your own to discover a novel (a fictional text composed mostly of words—no graphic novels—of more than 100 pages at or above your reading level) that you would enjoy.
Step 2 – Read: Before the start of the next school year, read your selected book, taking notes on aspects of the book that stand out to you as needed.
Step 3 – Write: At the start of the school year, having completed reading your selected book, your new Sound School English teacher will give you a prompt for an essay you will write in class.

It will be graded in PowerSchool.
